Rain continues in Lakewood Ranch

After torrential downpours this morning, residents in Lakewood Ranch are getting at least a temporary break from the rain.

Many residents were out on walks or gardening around lunchtime, as rains subsided temporarily. Rain, however, continues to fall intermittently. Winds remain strong.

The area continues to be under a Tropical Storm Watch, as indicated by the National Weather Service. A tornado watch also remains in effect until 2 p.m. for Manatee and Sarasota counties.
