"The Internship"
Three Popcorns
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Josh Gad, Aasif Mandvi, Jessica Szohr
Director: Shawn Levy
Rating: PG-13
Comment: Not a laugher but a smiler. Predictable but entertaining and loaded with heart.

"The Purge'
One Popcorn
Genre: Suspense/Thriller
Cast: Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, Max Burkholder, Adelaide Kane
Director: James DeMonaco
Rating: R
Comment: Sick with no redeeming social value.

"Frances Ha"
Two popcorns
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Greta Gerwig, Mickey Sumner
Director: Noah Baumbach
Rating: R
Comment: A sad comedy about a young adult girl with a "Peter Pan" complex and outlook on life, looking for Never Never Land. Greta Gerwig gives an outstanding performance that leaves one very sad for her frustrating quest for love and meaning.

"What Maisie Knew"
Two popcorns
Genre: Drama
Cast: Onata Aprile, Steve Coogan, Julianne Moore, Alexander Skarsgard, Joanna Vanderham
Director: David Siegel, Scott McGehee
Rating: R
Comment: A sad tale adapted from a Henry James Novel about a 6 year old girl dealing with stunning parental immaturity, selfishness and a generally dysfunctional broken home. Maise is a "ping pong ball" just trying to cope. The nanny is the only saving grace. Well done but hard to watch.
