Police searching for bank robbery suspect

The Sarasota Police Department is looking for a suspect who robbed the SunTrust Bank, 3577 Fruitville Road, at 4 p.m. yesterday.

The suspect, who concealed his face with a mask, is believed to be a thin white male in his 20s or 30s that’s no taller than 6-foot. The suspect also appears to have multiple tattoos, including a circular tattoo on the right side of his neck and a colorful tattoo on his right forearm.

The man used a backpack to direct a teller what kind of bills he wanted and even checked the money before leaving to make sure it didn’t contain a dye that would contaminate it, according to one customer that was in the bank at the time of the robbery.
