Pirates top Sailors

The Braden River baseball team edged past Sarasota 2-1 in non-district action March 30. 

It was the first time since 2012 that the Pirates beat the Sailors, who are ranked No. 2 in the state in Class 8A. 

Senior pitcher Eric Kimsey earned the win on the mound, allowing one run on four hits in 6 1/3 innings. Tyler Dyson came on in relief to pick up the save. 

Dyson also went 1-for-2 with a RBI. Brian Dillingham went 2-for-4 and scored both runs for the Pirates.
