PHOTO GALLERY: 13th annual Principals' Recognition Luncheon

Principals and art organization leaders of Sarasota County celebrated the arts in school at the 13th annual Principals’ Recognition Luncheon, Wednesday Nov. 13.

The event celebrated the importance of arts in school and honored school principals for their schools' achievements in arts education from the past year.

Fitting with this year's theme, Viva Innovation! Viva Arts!, keynote speaker David Rovine, vice president of the Baltimore Orioles-Sarasota, discussed innovation and reinvention. 

“It’s important that the arts are always available to every child as a part of their core curriculum,” Jim Shirley, executive director of the Arts and Culture Alliance, says.
