Do you know a young violinist age 8 to 18 living in Sarasota or Manatee county? The Perlman Program/Suncoast is seeking this specific demographic to audition for a new initiative: the Super String Program. It’s a program that will allow these young musicians to perform a Vivaldi violin concerto (A minor, Op.3, No. 6, movement 1) with the PMP String Orchestra under the direction of famed violinist and founder of the residency Itzhak Perlman. Students selected will participate in two workshops, one in October and November and a performance on Jan. 2.

Auditions are by appointment only, starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Booker Middle School, 2250 Myrtle St. Sarasota. Application forms are available at PMPSuncoast.org. For more information email Elizabeth Power, [email protected].
