William Nicholas, 59, of Eugene, Ore. and formerly of Longboat Key, died Aug. 5.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and worked as a musician.
Mr. Nicholas is survived by his mother, Doris Haarer; son, William Nicholas Jr.; and six siblings.
Services and a burial with military honors will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 4, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 Clark Road.
