+ Woman robbed at Walgreens
A woman was robbed by sudden snatching Jan. 19 as she left the Walgreens location at Lockwood Ridge Road and University Parkway.

A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report states the woman was approached in the parking lot of the store by a white female, who asked her for directions.

The female then snatched the purse off the victim’s left arm and fled, the report states. The suspect was not located.

+ Woman lied about CPS imposter
Bradenton Police Department say a woman was lying Jan. 16, when she reported a man came to her door impersonating a child protection specialist.

A charge of filing a false report to law enforcement is pending, police reports state.

The woman’s admission came Jan. 19, three days after she called police to report a suspicious incident at her residence in the 2600 block of Seventh Avenue West. At that time, the woman said a man knocked on her door. The man identified himself as a CPS employee and said he was there to check on the welfare of the victim’s child, the woman said.

Branson-based Faith Life Church has announced it will hold its first service in Lakewood Ranch Feb. 5.

Members of the North Manatee Kiwanis Club joined the Kiwanis Club of Lakewood Ranch at a recent meeting.

The club meets at noon Tuesdays, at The Polo Grill and Bar, 10670 Boardwalk Loop.
