+ Trustee seeks sanctions against Colony Lender
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee Douglas Menchise filed a motion for sanctions against Colony Lender LLC last week. The motion argues that Colony Lender’s claims that it will pursue damages from a recreational lease constituted violation of an automatic stay that was in place.

Colony Lender attorney Michael Assaf argued Aug. 21, in U.S. Bankruptcy Judge K. Rodney May’s Tampa Courtroom that no stay existed and that even if a stay did exist, his client did not violate it.

“Colony Lender and Unicorp have done nothing with respect to the rec lease damages judgment other than assert ownership. They haven’t moved to collect,” he said.

May scheduled a pre-trial hearing for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 9.

+ Key Club, USF to launch new partnership

“Combining the resources of a major educational institution in our area and the premier hospitality employer in the area, the intent is that this program will continue to grow in relevance as USF Sarasota-Manatee expands its core hospitality and tourism curriculum to embrace and reflect our regional needs,” the release states.
