MTI student earns ADA scholarhips

A dental student from Manatee Technical Institute's East Campus in Lakewood Ranch has been selected as one of only 10 students nationwide to receive a scholarship from the American Dental Association.

Jamie Yucha, a dental assisting student, earned the scholarship, which is for pursuing careers in dentistry, dental hygiene, dental assisting and dental laboratory technology.

"Jamie is a model student," Dental Assisting Program Director Kimberly Bland said. "I have no doubt she will continue to soar as she furthers her career in dentistry."

 Yucha submitted a detailed application and essay, held a 3.5 GPA and was nominated by her instructors as part of the application process.
