Mote scientist to lead worldwide aquaculture organization

Mote Marine Laboratory scientist Dr. Kevan Main has been elected to lead the World Aquaculture Society, an organization that advances progressive, sustainable aquaculture in about 100 member countries.

Main was inaugurated for a three-year term the group’s annual meeting this month in Natal, Brazil. She has pioneered sustainable aquaculture since 2001 as director of Mote’s Center for Aquaculture Research and Development and oversees Mote Aquaculture Park.
