Meteors finish second in High Tide tourney

The Florida Meteors 12U baseball team finished second in the 26-team 12U High Tide tournament June 15 through June 19, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Florida Meteors 12U baseball team finished second in the 26-team 12U High Tide tournament June 15 through June 19, in Myrtle Beach, S.C. 

The Meteors went 4-1 in pool play, outscoring their opponents 71-19. The team then moved on to bracket play where it went 3-0, defeating the Mill Creek Hawks (Georgia) 15-3, the Illinois Valley Titans 3-2 and the Go Wags Rockhounds (Pennsylvania) 11-4, to advance to the title game. 

In the championship, the Meteors, who played nine games in five days, fell to Georgia Select. 

Trey Carroll led the team in RBIs and also hit a grand slam in the semifinals. Stone Frishman hit a 3-run home run in the championship game and Zach Kwiatkowski hit a 3-run home run versus the Ohio Stallions in pool play. Alex Merchant led the way for the Meteors on the mound. 

Meteors players include: Fred Dariano, Stone Frishman, Trey Carroll, Dillon Pisano, Connor Losada, Zach Kwiatkowski, Alex Merchant, Sean Vitug, Alden St. Lawrence, Alden Wright and Chase Yniguez.
