Sarasota County School District officials will hold public meetings on Wednesday, June 6, and Thursday, June 7, for opinions on the Sarasota High School rebuild project.

The first meeting is an informational public forum school district representatives will use to get feedback on designs for the new campus. Parents, public officials, business leaders and any stakeholders in the project are encouraged to participate in the forum, which includes overviews of cost control and the renovation of the minimalist building designed by architect Paul Rudolph in the 1950s.

The next day participants will be divided into groups representing those different stakeholders and analyze four conceptual plans for the school redesign. The groups will meet as a whole and ranks plans looking to decide on one site plan for the project expected to begin late this year.

Harvard Jolly Inc., a St. Petersburg-headquartered architecture firm, is one of the companies that will have their designs evaluated, according to Sarasota County Schools Communications Director Gary Leatherman. Harvard Jolly also oversees the design of the new Gulf Gate Library.

Both meetings will be held in the Conference Center at Sarasota Technical Institute from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
