The Southeast Water Reclamation Facility will be getting a new upgrade this year after the Manatee County Commissioners approved a bid for a septage and grease receiving station at the facility, located on Lena Road.
Commissioners awarded the bid to Vogel Bros. Building Company out of Lakeland, Fla., during their meeting Tuesday, Oct. 6. Vogel Bros. was the lowest bidder out of seven companies at $3.5 million and just shy of a year for project completion. The scope of work includes constructing a stormwater retention pond, grease and septage receiving stations and above-ground storage tanks for both entities.
The reclamation facility will continue to operate during construction.
