Manatee Commission talks housing

Manatee County commissioners will talk about affordable housing during a workshop Tuesday morning May 17.

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. at the county commission chambers, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.

Topics include single-family housing in terms of rehabilitation, replacement and new construction and affordability for rental properties.

The board also will discuss the Whole Child Manatee organization and “food deserts,” areas in the county that do not have access to heathy foods.
