Man dies in single-vehicle accident

An 84-year-old East County man died in a single-car accident Monday evening.

A Florida Highway Patrol report states Joseph Mullen was pronounced dead after being transported to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center around 5:50 p.m.

The report states Mullen’s 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on River Club Boulevard, just north of Clubhouse Drive when it ran off the road and to the right, onto the east shoulder of River Club Boulevard. It struck a concrete light pole.
