Kimberly Dominguez, a marketing executive and nine-year Lakewood Ranch resident, will lead marketing operations at The Mall at University Town Center.

The marketing and sponsorship director's responsibilities include: shopping center marketing; sponsorship activities; tourism; community relations; developing programs and events; and grand opening preparations.

Dominguez has more than 20 years of marketing and sales experience, and has worked with companies such as Coca-Cola, PBS, TNT and the Discovery Channel.

To date, the new two-level mall will feature Saks Fifth Avenue, Dillard's, Macy's and about 100 specialty stores and restaurants. The $315 million shopping center opens Oct. 16.
