After a first half, John Rivera's penalty kick put Lakewood Ranch ahead 1-0 against Braden River on Friday night.

The Mustangs put the game out of reach with a timely goal from Ben Wilson in the second half to defeat the Pirates, 2-0.

It was the third-straight district title for the Mustangs, that host Fort Meyers at 7 p.m. Thursday. Braden River will travel on Thursday to Barron Collier, with a 7 p.m. start time.

“I can’t be any more proud of these guys,” Lakewood Ranch Coach Vito Bavaro said. “Us and Braden River, it’s like two brothers going at each other. You love each other and hate each other at the same time.”
