Key residents eligible for FEMA Debby assistance

Longboat Key residents could be eligible for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assistance for damages sustained during Tropical Storm Debby.

FEMA has opened a temporary disaster recovery center for those whose homes or businesses were damaged in Manatee County at the Manatee County Convention Center, 1 Haben Blvd., Palmetto, with hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

A community relations team began canvassing Sarasota County last week to talk with residents and business owners who sustained uninsured losses and assist them with the initial claims registration process.
