Second-grade students at McNeal Elementary collected dozens of items last month for animals in need, holding a pet food drive for Honor Animal Rescue.

The event was held in conjunction with the class’s science unit on living things and their needs.“It also tied in with our social studies unit on citizenship,” teacher Cris Edwards says.
