Hall & Oates coming to the Van Wezel on Dec. 2

During the 1970s and 1980s, there were two names that were at the forefront of both popular rock and roll and soul: Hall & Oates.

Inaugurated in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2014, Hall & Oates have been on the road since and are bringing their soulful musical stylings to the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall at 8 p.m. on December 2. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 7 at 10 a.m. 

Daryl Hall and John Oates took the classic sounds of rock and roll and soul from their hometown of Philadelphia and created their own brand of "blue-eyed soul" and rocking pop music. With seven certified platinum albums, six certified gold albums and six number one hits including "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)," "Private Eyes," "Kiss on My List," "Maneater," "Out of Touch" and "Rich Girl," Hall & Oates are the most successful duo of the rock era. And with a career that has lasted over 40 years, Hall & Oates have sold more records than other comparable duos like The Everly Brothers, Simon & Garfunkel, The Righteous Brothers and Ike & Tina Turner. Their music and sound has influenced artists in genres as far-ranging as pop, rock and hip-hop.
