Goodwill Manasota, in partnership with Garden of the Heart Yoga Center, is offering seven free yoga and meditation sessions to veterans and their families.

The first session starts today, Thursday, Feb. 20, at 3:30 p.m. at the Goodwill Mecca Community Room, 5150 N. Tamiami Trail.

The classes are part of the non-profit's national program, Warriors at Ease, which has been developed in collaboration with the United States Department of Defense.

“Yoga therapy can aid recovery and promote resilience among veterans and their families,” says Christopher Davis,  program manager for Goodwill’s veterans’ initiative.  “These sessions further enhance our mission of assisting veterans to transition into civilian life.”

The classes will continue through March until April 10. Attendees should dress in comfortable clothing; mats and props are provided.
