The Rev. Bruce Porter, of Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian, has recovered from shoulder surgery he had last November. He is back on the tennis court.

“I’m doing those overhead shots, too,” Porter reports.

And in other sports news, the Rev. David Danner, of All Angels by the Sea Episcopal Church, used to be an avid runner. But an ankle issue developed, and now Danner is a swimmer. He can be found at 5:30 a.m. six days a week, at the Bradenton YMCA pool.

“It’s already getting crowded then,” Danner reports of the early time.
