Edgewater light nearly complete

Edgewater residents soon will breathe a sigh of relief when exiting their community.

Its intersection with University Parkway soon will have a working traffic signal.

Manatee County is expected to post a sign Wednesday notifying residents the signal will go live Jan. 13, project spokesperson Trudy Geneva said.

The intersection met warrants for a signal in spring 2013. Construction by MSB Services began in August 2015.

The project cost about $600,000.
