Basketball

Lakewood Ranch boys team went 8-0 and won the top-division championship on June 25 at the Eckerd College team camp. 

Track and field

At the 2017 New Balance Nationals Outdoor in Greensboro, N.C., on June 18, recent Lakewood Ranch graduate Sophia Falco took first place in the girls long jump championship (6.22m) and third place in the girls triple jump championship (12.56m). Falco will attend Vanderbilt University in the fall. 

Also at the meet, the Mustangs boys 4x800 relay team of Andrew Dean, Brice Easton, Johnny Reid and John Rivera finished in third place (7:42.25). 

Golf

John Fricke sank a hole-in-one on the 16th hole at University Park Country Club on June 24. Fricke used a 5-wood on the 159-yard hole.
