East County High 5 Moments: 07.19.17

1 — East County resident and IMG Academy tennis player Whitney Osuigwe reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon girls singles tournament by defeating Katie Swan (6-4, 2-6, 6-1) on July 12.

2 — The Tampa Mustangs travel softball team, based in Lakewood Ranch and featuring players from Lakewood Ranch and Braden River high schools, finished third at the DeMarini Invitational Showcase July 9 in Chicago.

3 — Lakewood Ranch pitcher Pablo Garabitos, who will be a senior next semester, was selected for the MLB Breakthrough Series camp in Bradenton on June 30.

4 — The foursome of Jack Siegel, Bob Allen,  Randy Edington and Art Whitson (121) won the Men's Golf Association "two best balls of four" event at University Park Country Club on July 12.

5 — Ann Bergeron and Joan Greene (16) tied for first in the Nine Hole Women's Golf Association Individuals Putts Event at Palm Aire Country Club.
