1 — Ellenton pairs figure skaters Tarah Kayne and Danny O’Shea captured their first national pairs title at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships Jan. 23. 

2 — Jack Kelley recorded a double-double, finishing with 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Lakewood Ranch boys basketball team to an 81-68 victory against rival Braden River Jan. 22. 

3 — Skylar Jungers scored the game-winning goal in the 79th minute to power the Cardinal Mooney girls soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Cape Coral Oasis in the Class 2A-Region 3 quarterfinals Jan. 21. 

4 — Kolbie Ward scored a season-high 31 points to lead The Out-of-Door Academy boys basketball team to an 80-72 victory against Sarasota Christian Jan. 19. 

5 — Sereena Feeney and Sierra VanSuch combined for 30 points as The Out-of-Door Academy girls basketball team edged past DeSoto County 37-35 Jan. 20.
