Deputies arrest woman for unlicensed surgery

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office charged 44-year old Christine Patterson with practicing medicine without a license early Thursday, April 25, for a 2011 incident at a plastic surgery office.

Patterson operated on a patient that returned to Sarasota Surgical Arts complaining of post-surgery swelling in April of 2011. Dr. Alberico Sessawas out of town and Patterson, Sessa’s sisterand office manager, drained the wound, claiming she saw the procedure done, “plenty of times.”

Patterson is being held in the Sarasota County jail without bond.
