The Florida Department of Transportation will start mobilizing construction crews and materials for the Siesta Key North Bridge Project on Tuesday and could begin lane closures the following Monday, said FDOT spokeswoman Jennifer Stafford.

Bridge commuters can expect to see construction crews and materials assembling on June 5, with a nightly lane closure scheduled from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m. to begin within the subsequent week. The estimated completion date, according to a website (siestakeybridge.com) started by the FDOT, is Oct. 16.

Stafford said there is a tentative progress meeting scheduled next Tuesday with stakeholders intended to clarify the specific date of the lane closure. For more information and pictures of preliminary construction pick up a copy of the Thursday, June 7, issue of the Pelican Press.
