The first phase of revisions to the Manatee County Land Development Code have been posted to the county’s website for public comment.
The public can comment on the revised LDC, which creates mixed-use zoning districts, establishes minimum densities in the urban core and works to create pedestrian-friendly, walkable neighborhoods, among other changes, until Dec. 23.
County staff says the LDC in its current form deters redevelopment and discourages economic development, and is complicated to navigate and implement.
A second phase to the revisions will be presented at a later date to incorporate changes consistent with the county’s “How Will We Grow” plan.
See the first phase changes on the county’s website.
