Manatee County commissioners today approved plans to redevelop a commercial shopping center at the southeast corner of Lockwood Ridge Road and State Road 70.

Final site plans are already under review for two parcels on the site, including for a Wawa gas station and a Walmart Neighborhood Market, a grocery store.

Developer Gryboski Howe & Gravley plans to build eight out parcels on the  23-acre property. They include three larger retail structures, plus the addition of five smaller buildings, for a total of about 165,000 square feet. Original approvals allowed for more than 220,000 square feet.
