Sept. 6
HEAT CHECK

11 a.m. — 400 block of North Tuttle Avenue. Petit Theft From Building. The owner of a rental home found someone had taken the stove from inside the property. All of the locks on the doors were functional, and an officer did not notice any signs of forced entry. The stove was dragged from the front of the home, through the home and out the back door, which was locked when the man entered the home on the morning of the report. The man found the front door slightly ajar when he arrived at the home, but saw no signs of forced entry. No neighbors in the area saw anything unusual. The officer speculated a prior tenant still had keys to the property, and the owner replaced all the locks.

The woman is in the process of moving out but still had several personal items inside the residence.
