The Longboat Key Town Commission will pick its mayor and vice mayor for the following year tonight.

The commission’s statutory meeting takes place at 7 p.m. March 26, at Longboat Key Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road, during which commissioners who are beginning new terms will take their oaths of office before the commission votes on the town’s mayor and vice mayor.

Jim Brown currently holds the mayor’s seat, while David Brenner is the vice mayor. The makeup of the commission will remain unchanged. Brenner won a narrow 90-vote victory in the race for the District 3 seat last week, and commissioners Lynn Larson, Hal Lenobel and Pat Zunz ran unopposed.
