Commission considers modified workshop schedule

The Longboat Key Town Commission’s regular Thursday workshops could soon become Monday regular workshops.

The commission will discuss rescheduling its workshops to 1 p.m. Mondays during its June 21 regular workshop.

Commissioners discussed the proposed change, which would eliminate current conflicts with the Sarasota County Tourist Development Council meeting, during their May 24 regular workshop.

A proposed schedule for the remainder of 2012 was distributed at the Monday, June 4 meeting with regular workshops scheduled for Sept. 24, Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17. Since then, however, Commissioner Jack Duncan has proposed alternative workshop dates of Nov. 12 and Dec. 10 to allow for longer breaks during November and December.

No matter what the time and date, commission meetings and workshops will still occur in the same place: Longboat Key Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road.
