Cold front passes through the area today

Light rain and cloudy skies this morning on Longboat Key and the Sarasota-Bradenton area is past of a cold front moving through that will bring a short reprieve from the area’s warmer and humid weather.

The high is only expected to reach 72 degrees today as skies clear late this afternoon. A low of 52 degrees is expected and tomorrow’s forecasted high is sunny and only 72 degrees.

The cold front, though, will only last a day. Sunday’s high is 79 degrees and lows will be back in the 60s. Temperatures will be back into the low 80s by Monday as humidity levels begin to rise again.

The forecasted high for Christmas Day is 85 degrees.
