+ Plymouth Harbor establishes new foundation
Harry Hobson, president and CEO of Plymouth Harbor, recently announced the establishment of the Plymouth Harbor Foundation, a separate 501(c)3 organization to support the most positive aging experience possible for residents.

The foundation is the result of strategic leadership by the board of trustees led by Chairman F. Thomas Hopkins and the Philanthropic Advisory Committee chaired by resident Bill Johnston. Committee members include trustees Lee Byron, Tom Hopkins and Bill Young, and resident members Larry Coffey, Nancy Cook, Jack Denison and Bill Seiberling. Hobson and CFO Garry Jackson also serve on the committee.

+ East Meets West Expo networking event
Approximately 800 businesspeople are expected to attend the East Meets West Expo, featuring professionals from the Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce, Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, the Siesta Key, Greater Sarasota and Gulf Coast Latin chambers of commerce. The first 500 people will receive a goody bag. There will be appetizers and a cash bar.

The event takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Admission is $8 with advance registration and $10 at the door. To register, visit EastMeetsWestExpo.com.
