Longboat Key Club and Resort has partnered with Clean the World, a national organization that distributes recycled and repurposed soap and shampoo to 50 countries.

Clean the World operates in 18 states and distributes more than 230 tons of soap, shampoo and other hotel cleaning products to more than 50 countries worldwide. The Key Club will collect and donate slightly used soaps and amenities from its hotel rooms, with the goal of helping Clean the World save 1 million lives each year. Once collected, the products undergo a rigorous, certified recycling process that is 100% effective in sanitizing and repurposing the products.

According to Clean the World, 3.5 million children under the age of 5 die annually from diseases that can be prevented with hand-washing and bar soap.

“ … It is a program that impacts people in such a simple, yet positive way,” said Michael Welly, general manager of Longboat Key Club and Resort. “We are pleased to be a part of this effort.”
