+ Team Renick Real Estate to sponsor Gourmet Lawn Party
Michael Renick and Eric Teoh, of Team Renick Longboat Key Real Estate, will be $5,000 platinum sponsors for the Longboat Key Kiwanis Gourmet Lawn Party, which will take place Dec. 6, at the Resort at Longboat Key Club’s Islandside driving range.

The event’s date was recently changed to Dec. 6 to avoid traffic from the St. Armands Art Festival. Michael Garey, the event chairman and owner of Lazy Lobster of Longboat, said the platinum sponsorship is one of many new developments for this year’s lawn party.

Bill Herlihy, of the Bridge Street Bistro & Island Time Bar & Grill, is the restaurant chairman of the event. Garey said Herlihy has been the driving force behind gaining additional restaurant participation from Anna Maria Island.

Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar on St. Armands Circle will participate in this year’s event for the first time.

+ Cannons Marina to host St. Armands Boat Show
Cannons Marina will sponsor the St. Armands Boat Show, scheduled for Oct. 25 and Oct. 26, in St. Armands Circle Park.

Cannons will show off its Grady-White boats and Southwind deck boats, all of which feature Yamaha motors.

Andrew White and Marcel Kasten, both members of the Cannons sales team, will be at the event to assist visitors with any boating-related questions.

“Last year we sponsored our first boat show at St. Armands and we had such a great experience we wanted to host another event that would provide a fun, family atmosphere and also bring the highest quality in boats to the people of Sarasota and Bradenton,” said Cannons Marina owner David Miller in a news release.

+ Realtor wins prize from American Bar Association
Richard Perlman, a former Philadelphia attorney who is currently a real estate agent with Michael Saunders & Co., recently won first place in the American Bar Association’s “One Great Name” contest for both the Sarasota County Bar Association and the entire nationwide contest.

Perlman received the honor for the title of his family law program called “The Gray Divorce Revolution … Will You Still Need Me, Will You Still Feed Me, When I’m 64??? Probably Not.”

Gray divorce refers to the demographic trend of an increasing divorce rate for older couples in long-lasting marriages.

According to the American Bar Association, the entry was voters’ favorite “by a sizeable margin.” One voter wrote, “I love the Beatles reference!”
