+ Chiles Group fights childhood hunger
The Chiles Restaurant Group raised more than $1,500 for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Program through its campaign that took place Sept. 8 through Sept. 21.

This campaign fights to end childhood hunger in local communities as well as throughout the nation. All three Chiles restaurants — Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub on Longboat Key, the Sandbar Seafood & Spirits on Anna Maria and the BeacHhouse Restaurant on Bradenton Beach — donated $1 from each grouper sandwich and adult burger sold.

Thousands of other restaurants nationwide participated in the No Kid Hungry program throughout September.

“One in five children in America struggle with hunger,” said Ed Chiles, owner of the Chiles Restaurant Group, in a news release. “That’s a number we find completely unacceptable. Our promotion is just one way we can support the No Kid Hungry campaign, with the enthusiasm of our employees and generosity of our customers, to help make sure that every child in America gets the food they need to learn and thrive.”
