Bird Key Park will be closed temporarily Tuesday, May 29 at approximately 6:30 p.m. until dawn Wednesday for a utilities project. The approximate 12-hour closure is necessary while the city’s Utilities Department works on a water and sewer force main replacement project.

The Utilities Department is replacing sewer force mains on Bird Key, Lido Key and St. Armands Key. The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-December 2012.

The Sarasota City Commission has allocated $15 million over 10 years for infrastructure capital improvements with force mains and lift stations receiving the highest priority.

For more information, contact the Utilities Department at 955-2325.
