+ Beth Israel members act out during Purim
Members of Temple Beth Israel celebrated Purim with a play Saturday, March 19, at Temple Beth Israel. Those who attended sang traditional Purim songs and made noise with their groggers (noisemakers). Following Rabbi Jonathan Katz’s reading of the Book of Esther, members of the temple showed off their acting and singing skills by performing a play, written by Judy Goldstein, about the first Purim party. After the show, everyone enjoyed some hamentashen, a traditional holiday treat.
