Baugh hosts town hall meeting

More than 100 East County residents gathered March 30, at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall, for Manatee County Commissioner Vanessa Baugh’s town hall meeting.

Attendees heard from representatives of Florida Power & Light, as well as Schroeder-Manatee Ranch Vice President of Planning Richard Bedford, before delving into questions with Baugh.

Audience members focused much of their attention on the preservation of land for wildlife and their frustrations with traffic and road infrastructure.

Baugh said the county is working diligently on tackling the roads issue, recently signing off on a $36 million bond, to fund the 44th Avenue Extension.

“Were working extremely hard, extremely quickly to get as much done as possible,” she said.
