City Manager Robert Bartolotta will hold development problem solving sessions on a monthly basis beginning Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., in Room 112 at City Hall, 1565 First Street.

At the direction of the Sarasota City Commission, the meetings will focus on solving development difficulties. The meetings will be held the second Wednesday of each month at the same time and location.

The meetings will provide an opportunity for Bartolotta and staff to meet with any individuals who are experiencing problems related to development with the city of Sarasota. Representatives of commercial and residential trade associations also will be invited.

Each meeting will be conducted in a town hall format, with open comments and discussions. There will be no formal agenda. The objective will be for staff to listen and be problem solvers. Staff also will be able to determine patterns of impediments to development and work to eliminate them.

The city modeled the program after one initiated by former St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Baker. City staff and association representatives recently met with Mayor Baker to seek his input on logistics and outcomes of the process.
