Appeals court grants oral arguments to town

The Second District Court of Appeals has granted oral arguments to the town in its appeal of a writ of certiorari issued by the 12th Judicial Circuit Court in the challenge of the Town Commission’s approval of a development order for the Longboat Key Club and Resort’s proposed $400 million Islandside renovation-and-expansion project.

Town Attorney David Persson told the commission at its workshop that the Islandside Property Owners Coalition, which is challenging the project, will have to produce a response next week.
