All eyes on Isaac

Longboat Key is making initial planning preparations as it keeps an eye on Tropical Storm Isaac.

Town Manager Dave Bullock sent an email to Longboat Key commissioners early this morning, informing them that although the storm’s cone of certainty is still very wide and encompasses much of the state, town staff is in the early stages of preparation and planning, while keeping in touch closely with both Manatee and Sarasota counties.

The storm is expected to be in the Florida Straits on Monday and the state will have a better idea where the storm is headed at that time.
