To commemorate the start of the Jewish New Year, the Sarasota synagogue enjoyed a luncheon at The Meadows Country Club.
Temple Emanu-El's Rosh Hashanah luncheon Sept. 14 embraced the way parishioners plan to enjoy a new year — alongside friends and with plenty of Kosher food. The event, held at The Meadows Country Club, featured a three-course meal that kicked off with apples, honey and challah, to start the Jewish New Year off sweet, event planner Sandy Schneiderman said. The synagogue's event planners have hosted the luncheon for three years as an avenue for the Jewish community to embrace the holiday alongside friends and family. This year's event drew a crowd of 133 people — the largest attendance of the event's brief history.
