The Student Government Association held a dodgeball tournament to fundraise for Project Heart.
Of the 18 teams ready to launch rubber balls at each other for fundraising, only two were made up of faculty and staff from Lakewood Ranch High School.
“(The students) want to beat us more than they want to win the tournament,” said Rryan Kennedy, a teacher, with a laugh.
Students competed in its 6th annual dodge ball tournament Wednesday, March 2, to raise money for Project Hope, an organization that assists homeless students in Manatee County.
The Student Government Association organized the tournament.
“Each year we have a different charity,” said SGA President Remee Farah. “A lot of kids like to participate — it’s been successful.”
