Turtles and rabbits and birds, oh my!
Humane Society of Sarasota campers got a taste of the wild side on June 16 during the Humane Society's Fur Fun Summer Camp.
After learning about animals and their environments children got to play with a frog, a tortoise named Charlie and a pair of bearded dragons, among other furry, feathered and scaled friends. It was hard to tell which animals earned the title of camp favorite.
Some children stayed loyal the furry white rabbit swaddled in towels being gingerly passed from child to child while others spent most of their time on the floor feeding Charlie the tortoise. But for camper Caroline Cannon there were a couple animals a cut above the rest.
She spent most of her time cradling a bearded dragon.
"It's just an interesting animal, because you don't see them very often," she said.
