Over 100 walkers and volunteers walked 17 miles Sunday, Oct. 16, in preparation for the upcoming Breast Cancer 3-Day walk that will be taking place later this month. The walk ended with a celebratory lunch provided by Stonewood Grill.
The Sarasota Chapter of Interior Design Society hosted its first 'Party on the Pass' benefiting Trinity Charities at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron on Saturday, Oct. 15. Trinity Charities, Inc. is an HIV/AIDS service organization that provides services to individuals in Sarasota and Manatee counties. The bayside event included barbeque, drinks, live music from Stone Fish and a silent auction.
Art Center Sarasota hosted its first Celebrate Creativity Golf Tournament Saturday, Oct. 15 at Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club. The group wanted to plan a fundraiser with a creative spin, encouraging golfers to dress in a special way. Awards featured were: most creative golf outfit, 50/50 raffle, putting contest, closest to the pin contest, and one could even win a BMW if he or she got a whole-in-one on hole six.
Runners raced seven miles or a one mile fun run around Phillippi Shores International Baccalaureate World School as part of the New Balance/Manasota Track Club Racing Series.
