Children Braden River Elementary School learned about their country's history, citizenship and democratic processes during the second grade's annual Hall of Democracy event. Festivities included presentations about U.S. presidents and states, as well as voting in the "Great Cookie Election."
Selby Gardens' "Little Sprout's Club" met today for a "Tooty Fruity" themed morning. They painted Johnny Appleseed thumbprint apple trees, planted melon seeds, created watermelon slices from construction paper and snacked on yummy fruits.
While wedding bells were not ringing on St. Armand Circle this Saturday, Feb. 26, there were plenty of future brides in plastic tiaras. The future brides, along with their mothers, friends and future husbands, were on the Circle attending the 1st ever "Weddings in Paradise" event.
Southside Elementary students and their families had the chance to experience all types of science first hand on, Feb. 25 at Southside Elementary's Science Night. There were over 20 exhibitors that provided hands-on activities and demonstrations throughout the evening and approximately 500 people attended.
