The ladies of Laurel Oak Country Club raised more than $16,000 to benefit The American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” event.

More than 60 women participated in a recent golf tournament celebrating the Bertha Palmer Centennial and raised money from donations, raffles and silent auction items. Additionally, a regular men’s golfing group donned pink shirts the following day and donated its prize money to the same cause.
